Which of the 7 habits has the most meaning for you?
Habit number four, Win/Win has the most meaning to me because
as Jim Ritchie puts it, “In order to win truly and build characters you must
also include a path for our friends and partners and even our competitors to
also win.” This line made the Habit #4 felt not only as a habit to master in
order to benefit you in this life journey but also to look at it with a spiritual
perspective. We are to help others in life progress, help them become better human
beings than you first met them. As we are taught in the church to love others
as you love yourself, help build up the Lord’s kingdom by sharing, loving and
caring for our neighbors.
I reflected on this line from the video, and asked
myself, what good is it if I am successful in life, build a life of comfort for
myself and my family and not help a single person or someone become better like
myself also. What is more eye opening is that it mentions “even our competitors
to also win.” Although this is a business class and we are taught how to build
characters, discipline ourselves and other ways to be successful in our
personal and business life, I am very grateful for the spiritual side of this course
that my eyes are opened to and enlightened regularly.
One other thing I learn that I have never heard before
is from the video Passion vs Money by Guy Kawasaki. He said, money is not what it
is cracks up to be. You should do something because you are passionate about it
not because your number one motivation is to make lots of money. It is about changing
the world by doing what you are passion about.
