§  Why do you think Randy Pausch was able to achieve so many of his childhood dreams?

    • I think Randy Pausch was able to achieve his childhood dreams because his parents encouraged his creative mind. It was also because he never gave up. He saw failure the way people did not see it as he received the rejection letter. It was an opportunity to reflect and see how badly he wanted that chance to work at Disneyland engineering department. That is why he ended up working there at the end.

§  Do you feel that dreaming is important? Why or why not?

    • I feel dreaming is important. It tells you how bad you want to achieve something, and this shows how ambitious you are. This usually tells you what you are good at and what your talents and gifts are. Having this knowledge will lead you to work hard to achieve your dream and not give up easily.

§  Discuss at least one of your childhood dreams. Explain why you believe you can or cannot achieve this dream.

    • One of my childhood dreams was to be a leader or boss. I believe I can achieve this dream by taking the right courses, work in a position that will lead me to the top. I also have to not give up if I get rejected. I have to be like Randy Pausch and see rejection as an opportunity to try again.

§  What did you learn from this week’s readings and videos?

    • I learn from Jeffery A. Thomson’s talk that if I have faith my Unseen Navigator will lead me to my calling. I have faith so I have no doubt that God will guide me. I was also inspired by these quotes and hope that I will remember them when face with trials and take hard that things will work out, “Treat life as an experiment…be prepared for some stuff not to work out…"
    • "If you lead your life the right way, the karma will take care of itself. The dreams will come to YOU.”

§  What are you looking forward to learning and experiencing?

I am looking forward to experiencing life as an entrepreneur and using the knowledge I gain to success.

  Which of the 7 habits has the most meaning for you? Habit number four, Win/Win has the most meaning to me because as Jim Ritchie puts it, “In order to win truly and build characters you must also include a path for our friends and partners and even our competitors to also win.” This line made the Habit #4 felt not only as a habit to master in order to benefit you in this life journey but also to look at it with a spiritual perspective. We are to help others in life progress, help them become better human beings than you first met them. As we are taught in the church to love others as you love yourself, help build up the Lord’s kingdom by sharing, loving and caring for our neighbors. I reflected on this line from the video, and asked myself, what good is it if I am successful in life, build a life of comfort for myself and my family and not help a single person or someone become better like myself also.
